At a school that didn't play rugby, Ben first started playing the game at a Northampton club called Old Scouts and went on tour with them to Devon and Bristol. At the age of 17 he played his first game for the Northampton Saints and has since played over 100 games for the club.
His international career is fairly impressive too: including tours with the England national team and The Lions to South Africa, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and the USA as well as Ireland, France and Italy.
His career, in his words: “I've had quite a few ‘highs' in my playing career, the most memorable probably being winning the European Cup with Northampton in 2000” and “I'm really proud to play for England and reckon that is definitely my greatest achievement in my life so far.”
